Please support our advocacy services

1 million people who visit Australian hospitals each year have diabetes. Unfortunately, they are not permitted to inject their own insulin, or check their blood glucose levels in hospital. Instead they must rely on staff to manage their condition.

This can cause anxiety, helplessness and impact their physical health.

Rebekah Henricksen, our Policy and Advocacy Manager, is the person who champions their cause. "My aim is to tackle discrimination, isolation and access to services. I want to bring diabetes back to be a medical diagnosis."

With your donation today, we can see people’s needs are met in hospital and in every other setting where the attitudes, expectations and behavior of others could stop them living their best lives.

"We may not have the cure for diabetes yet, but we do have this way of making people’s lives better right now."
-Rebekah Henricksen, Policy and Advocacy Manager
